An incredibly popular seafood dish around the country is boiled crawfish. Well known by residents and visitors of Louisiana, this is also a commonly requested dish in Myrtle Beach, SC. But have you always wanted to make the dish at home? Well now you can learn how!
To start, fill a large pot roughly 1/3 full of water. Add bay leaves, crab boil seasonings, garlic, oranges, lemons, artichokes, salt, pepper, and potatoes. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
Next, add corn, green beans, mushrooms and onions, and cook for another 15 minutes. Stir in sausage and then cook for 5 more minutes.
Next, add the crawfish. Return the pot to a boil, and then simmer until the crawfish shells are bright red. This typically takes about 5 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the crawfish as this will cause the meat to be tough. Drain well and serve!
